Individual Therapy for Adults

Why Therapy?

Most people struggle to find balance and meaning in their lives. Forming close relationships, establishing stability and community, discovering what is truly important to each of us and learning constructive ways to cope with life’s difficulties are universal challenges of the human condition. Psychotherapy helps people understand the sources of their suffering and helps build capacity to better tolerate the emotional challenges of living. This leads to more options and more ease with oneself and the world.

There are many kinds of treatments and help available to people today. Psychotherapy is particularly successful at empowering individuals to examine, explore and change unsatisfying or destructive patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. Beliefs that are not helpful to us can be can be identified and challenged, not just intellectually, but through the experience of the therapy relationship.
